Empowering learners through engaging, evidence-based instruction to boost language, literacy skills, and confidence.
I've been a registered speech-language pathologist (S-LP) since 2008 working in public schools across the Greater Toronto Area, as well as in private practice. I have worked with countless students and educators, supporting access to the curriculum for a diverse range of learner profiles. With a background in teaching and passion for early intervention, I'm equipped to provide effective intervention for students demonstrating difficulty with reading, spelling, language comprehension, and/or expression. My approach is aligned with the science of reading and informed by the most current research.
S-LPs are uniquely qualified to deliver literacy intervention because reading and writing are deeply connected to spoken language. Literacy is one layer within the broader scope of language skills, which are critical for communication, learning, and academic success. S-LP's expertise in child language development allows us to address the root causes of literacy challenges, not just the presenting symptoms. Many children with speech and/or oral language difficulties also struggle with reading and writing.
My clinic is an affirming space where all children are respected, encouraged, and celebrated for who they are. Connection is an integral part of my holistic approach, and sensory preferences, social-emotional well being, and executive functions are always considered to optimize learning.
